does grandparents rights if they grandchild put up for adoption by the childs mother?

    Things like that would vary by state, I think. There is a lawyer referral service that will supply a lawyer for a small fee for a half hour consultation. Have them check it out and talk to a lawyer in their area.

    Why don’t they just offer to adopt her baby from her? Can’t hurt for them to ask her, right?

    Nope!
    Once the baby is with the new family it’s up to the adoptive family to adhere to the terms of the adoption. If it’s a closed adoption, your parents have no rights to the child whatsoever. If the adoption is open and disclosed, then can ask for visits etc but it’s still up to the adoptive parents to agree or disagree. This will all have been determined prior to the child being handed over by your sister.
